Jesus could have save himself from what was going to take place but he had to let God plan go as it was design. I feel that Jesus was aslo letting us now in a way that we must stand ferm an at no cost should we let anything or anyone stop us in our wall with him just as they took Jesus before other the same will happen to us but we must keep the faith as he did, no matter what we are going through.

Pilate
Jesus almost says that Pilate is innocent - at the point of speaking - and this influenced Pilate to want to do what he thought was right - to try to release Jesus - an innocent man in the eyes of Roman law.

Jesus responds to a storm
A storm comes up while they are crossing over to the other side, a real bad storm. They`re not surprised by this....

And they regarded the dark powers here, they were regarded, worshipped, among other things, as being the rulers over the sea and over nature. So when a storm comes up, no surprise to the disciples. They`re mad because Jesus is asleep in the boat. Kind of ironic. He`s the carpenter, but He`s asleep in the storm.

Most of those guys are fishermen, been in boats their whole life long, they are freaking out. They say:

  • Aren`t you concerned that we`re going to die?

    He says:

  • Not particularly.

And He looks out of the boat:

  • Peace, be still. ''Mark 4:39''

And the wind stops and the waves die down.

    Who is this man?

Our Lord has been the most courageous, self denying, noble, magnificent, loving, perfect man who has ever set foot on this filthy planet. We are unworthy of even kissing the stones where His Holy shadow rested for a nano second. May all the praised of the Universe and eternity be His!!!!

    Jesus Confidence
Jesus maintained His confidence, being the Son of God and with power at all times. It is a great example.

    Courageous
That Jesus did pull out a sword to fight back, proves that Jesus was not only prepared to fight for what is right, He stood fearlessly in front of His enemies, and told them that unless their actions are driven by God, they have no jurisdiction over Him.  The Pilates were now driven by their own greed to destroy Jesus.

And they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking on ahead of them; and they were amazed , and those who followed were fearful. And again He took the twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him, saying "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to the chief priests and the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death, and will deliver Him up to the Gentiles. And they will mock Him and spit upon Him, and scourge Him, and kill Him, and three days later He will rise again." ( Mark 10:32-34)

And they came to Jerusalem. And He entered the temple and began to cast out those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves {for sacrifices}; and He would not permit anyone to carry goods through the temple. And he began to teach and say to them, "Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations'? But you have made it a robbers' den."And the chief priests and the scribes heard this, and began seeking how to destroy Him. ( Mark 11:15-18)

Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM (I existed)." Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself, and went out of the temple." {Jesus was willing to claim to be God, even though He knew it would cause people to want to kill him.} ( John 8:58-59)

Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and seized Him. And behold, one of those who were with Jesus reached and drew out his sword, and struck the slave of the high priest, and cut off his ear. Then Jesus said to him, "Put your sword back into its place; for all those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions (72,000) of angels?" ( Matthew 26:50-53)

Pilate (Roman Governor) therefore said to Him, "You do not speak to me? Do you not know that I have authority to release You, and I have authority to crucify You?" Jesus answered " You would have no authority over Me, unless it had been given you from above; for this reason he who delivered Me up to you has the greater sin." As a result of this Pilate made efforts to release Him. ( John 19:10-12)
