Hello dear friends, king Herod feared this righteous man and holy before God b`se he knew the Lord would punish him if he messes up with his servant. Ofcourse I too fear the righteousnes men of God who are holy I fear them they are carrying an annoiting that can make the rest of my life hell.

This question is good for the only thing that makes the King Herod to be in a mood of fear is, he noticed that John the baptist was innocent yet killed him, despite that is something unwillingly. He thought that John has come back again for vengence, this was his fear when he heard the news of Christ Jesus. Therefore let every man following mind how you will talk, this little part of the body can kill you and can still keep you alive. Let us go to the book of Ezra 8:22 where some gentle-men from Isreal bossed b/4 the King concerning their God, that is to say the God they know not, the God they heared that performs miracules claiming that they know Him whereas they know Him not, for this they regreated of going back to the King again for help WHY? be/cos they have POSSED brfore the King. Child of God if you know who is your God POSSE with His name but if you do not know, do not POSSE rather seek to know Him first for He said in the book of Jeremaiah you shall seek me and find me. The fear of God. John was decapitated and suffered a horrible physical death :''. but as he faced it in the name of Jesus God to defend and spread the Word of Life. gained that Life and eternal bliss. He is killed and rises to new life-. Herod kills men often to assure his earthly power - you shall not kill - and in do doing gradulaly brings himself to death.He had the opportunity to listen and take the Word in and he rejected it by killing John moved by earthly superficial passing reasaosns. Herodias wishes..trying to please humands for the earthly crown. He loses his Life as well as the Crown.I am afarid of stumbling and not following in the steps of the Teachings. But i know that my Guardian Angel is there to lift me up and i can always find shelter and renewal in the confessional box.

King Herod feared what others would think of him, he feared loss of power, fear of rejection, fear of ridicule and feared loss of pride. Even though King Herod knew it was wrong and that there was no legitimate reason to kill and behead John the Baptist, a holy man of God, King Herod did it anyway. An innocent holy man was killed and beheaded because of Satan`s work of evil, manipulation, influence, deceitful control and pressure from Herodias who is Satan`s pawn in a sinful marriage and Herodias` daughter who is Satan`s pawn to lustfully dance for King Herod to elicit a promise which was used to behead an innocent man. Satan`s evil pawn is also seen in the fear of the spectators, those nobles, high officers, chief men and others who feared to stop King Herod from going through with such evil acts.

King Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, "John the Baptizer has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him." But others said, "It is Elijah." Others said, "It is the Prophet, or like one of the prophets." But Herod, when he heard this, said, "This is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead." For Herod himself had sent out and arrested John, and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, for he had married her. For John said to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife." Herodias set herself against him, and desired to kill him, but she couldn't, for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly.
Then a convenient day came, that Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee. When the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young lady, "Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you." He swore to her, "Whatever you shall ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom."
She went out, and said to her mother, "What shall I ask?"
She said, "The head of John the Baptizer."
She came in immediately with haste to the king, and asked, "I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptizer on a platter."
The king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths, and of his dinner guests, he didn't wish to refuse her. Immediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard, and commanded to bring John's head, and he went and beheaded him in the prison, and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young lady; and the young lady gave it to her mother.
When his disciples heard this, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
