Why is it helpful to confront a brother alone first, before involving others in confronting him?
If you bring others right off the bat it is like you are ganging up on your brother. If you come to him alone first you can talk and clear the air peaceably, perhaps atone or forgive for any wrong doing on anybodys part.

Why is it helpful to confront a brother alone first, before involving others in confronting him?
I believe it is helpful to confront alone, first, as it gives the brother a chance to respond, to hear your side, and work it out before going to the next step: He has a chance to listen & forgiveness can take over resolving the issue.

Why do we have to involve others? Why not let Jesus handle it in His own time?

Why is it helpful to confront a brother alone first, before involving others in confronting him?
We need to show him what he has done wrong and give him a chance to see what he has done wrong and to make things right. Our Lord has taught us to forgive just like He has forgiven us. If he does not want to listen, I would give the situation to Jesus and He would handle it, sometimes he will involve us but it wou ld be in a gentle and loving way.

I think that if you brought two or more people the first time you approach your brother about his fault, he would feel more intimidated, and less likely to listen or amend his ways.

It should be a one on one confortation, for after all wasn`t you the one that was sinned against.Regardless you will need to forgive him.

Why is it helpful to confront a brother alone first, before involving others in confronting him?
It is easier for someone to quietly listen to another person trying to help them than to cause possible embaressment by going at someone mob handed. By confronting them alone it is easier to gain them back as your brother

Why is it helpful to confront a brother alone first, before involving others in confronting him?
Well, I think the Lord wants to keep us from pointing finger at someone like your brother who sinned against you. But if he does sin against you then he can be forgiven for his sins if he is willing to listen. If not then that`s when you involve other witnesses which of course including the Lord. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them. Read the following scriptures in Matthew 18: 21-35

A brother who sins against you
I never really thought about taking a person or persons around someone I will confront. I always thought it was only right to confront someone alone even if they didn`t listen. But I found out today, that is a good thing because the presence of a witnesses will keep things honest. Another thing as I went on to find out in the bible that if the person want listen with others around you can tell the church.

A Brother Who Sins Against You

"If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. But if he doesn't listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector. Most certainly I tell you, whatever things you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever things you release on earth will have been released in heaven. Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them."
