Why do you think Peter was so emphatic and yet so wrong about denying Jesus?

Peter loved Jesus so much that he could never foresee denying Him. He believed in Jesus, the Son of God, and felt the Son of God could not be harmed by people. He was so emphatic because he wanted to prove his great love for Jesus.

But he had not fully comprehended the depth of Jesus taught, and the sacrifice He was going to experience: The sufferings, pains, humiliation, and death by crucifixion as an ordinary human being; separation from God and Resurrection, to redeem us from our sins, according the Lord’s plan.

Peter as human being, and when faced with harm, he did deny Jesus, as stated by Jesus: “The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

Nevertheless; thereafter and realizing his act, Peter became one of the biggest both preachers and contributors to foundation of the Christian Church, also giving his life as tribute to his faith and beliefs.

Peter`s denial
Cause Peter knows who is Jesus, Jesus is a Son of God, then if a Son of God cannot harm by people, He didn;t know that Jesus must gave to sinner people, was crucified and dead. Peter didn;t know what GOd`s plan for mankinds, as we always we don;t know exactly what God Want from us, teach us. Peter is also a Human, just like us, sometimes we are confuss, scare , is this right, is this false ? we always ask like that because we always learn from the Lord. We always deny Jesus just like Peter did, but like Peter we also have repent for our wrongdoing and with all our heart to turn back to the Living God

Why do you think Peter was so emphatic and yet so wrong about denying Jesus?
This was emphatic because Peter `s characteristics were in fresh withought knowing that Jesus was talking to him in Spiritual ream. What Peter did was wrong because he had been with Jesus for a long time and he learnt alot more about the miracles of Jesus . Denying Jesus was the act of no perseverance. There is a lesson here that we should persevere and take up the cross and sacrifice our bodies for the work of God. Jesus will not forsake us. Amen.

Jesus Predicts Peter's Denial

Then Jesus said to them, "All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.' But after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee."
But Peter answered him, "Even if all will be made to stumble because of you, I will never be made to stumble."
Jesus said to him, "Most certainly I tell you that tonight, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times."
Peter said to him, "Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you." All of the disciples also said likewise.
