What about Jesus` death impressed the Centurian so much that He realized Jesus was the Son of God?
When Jesus cried out saying My God, My God, why have you forsaken me? and when Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit. The centurion saw the earth quake and the rocks were split and the things that were done like the veil of the temple was torn in two and tombs were opened and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised. That he said Truly this was the Son of God. Jesus Christ is Lord of All. Amen!

Well it`s amazing to a reader, the unusual things that followed the death of Jesus. the quake, the temple curtain, darkness, this centurian might have watched a number of crucifications, but Jesus` wans`t the usual one. Trust me, whatever Jesus spoke of himself concerning the father was all demostrated at the hour of His death.

What impressed the Centurian were things they have never in their live experienced nor witnessed which include: The veil of the temple which was torned in two from the top to the bottom. The earthquaked and the rocks that split into two. The tombs which also opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; coming out of the tombs after Jesus resurrection, entered into the holy city and appeared to many.

The Death of Jesus

Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. About the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lima sabachthani?" That is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said, "This man is calling Elijah."
Immediately one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him a drink. The rest said, "Let him be. Let's see whether Elijah comes to save him."
Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit. Behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split. The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many. Now the centurion, and those who were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared exceedingly, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God."
Many women were there watching from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, serving him. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
