约翰所著的耶稣传记——门徒的忧愁将会变为喜乐 有几个门徒就彼此说，他对我们说，等不多时，你们就不得见我。再等不多时，你们还要见我。又说，因我往父那里去。这是什么意思呢？ (16:17) 门徒彼此说，他说等不多时，到底是什么意思呢？我们不明白他所说的话。 (16:18) 耶稣看出他们要问他，就说，我说等不多时，你们就不得见我，再等不多时，你们还要见我。你们为这话彼此相问吗？ (16:19) 我实实在在地告诉你们，你们将要痛哭，哀号，世人倒要喜乐。你们将要忧愁，然而你们的忧愁，要变为喜乐。 (16:20) 妇人生产的时候，就忧愁，因为她的时候到了。既生了孩子，就不再记念那苦楚，因为欢喜世上生了一个人。 (16:21) 你们现在也是忧愁。但我要再见你们，你们的心就喜乐了。这喜乐，也没有人能夺去。 (16:22) 到那日，你们什么也就不问我了。我实实在在地告诉你们，你们若向父求什么，他必因我的名，赐给你们。 (16:23) 向来你们没有奉我的名求什么，如今你们求就必得着，叫你们的喜乐可以满足。 (16:24) 这些事，我是用比喻对你们说的。时候将到，我不再用比喻对你们说，乃要将父明明地告诉你们。 (16:25) 到那日，你们要奉我的名祈求。我并不对你们说，我要为你们求父。 (16:26) 父自己爱你们，因为你们已经爱我，又信我是从父出来的。 (16:27) 我从父出来，到了世界。我又离开世界，往父那里去。 (16:28) 门徒说，如今你是明说，并不用比喻了。 (16:29) 现在我们晓得你凡事都知道，也不用人问你。因此我们信你是从神出来的。 (16:30) 耶稣说，现在你们信吗？ (16:31) 看哪，时候将到，且是已经到了，你们要分散，各归自己的地方去，留下我独自一人。其实我不是独自一人，因为有父与我同在。 (16:32) 我将这些事告诉你们，是要叫你们在我里面有平安。在世上你们有苦难。但你们可以放心，我已经胜了世界。 (16:33) 约翰 16:17-33

The Disciples' Grief Will Turn to Joy
Some of his disciples therefore said to one another, "What is this that he says to us, 'A little while, and you won't see me, and again a little while, and you will see me;' and, 'Because I go to the Father?'" They said therefore, "What is this that he says, 'A little while?' We don't know what he is saying." Therefore Jesus perceived that they wanted to ask him, and he said to them, "Do you inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, 'A little while, and you won't see me, and again a little while, and you will see me?' Most certainly I tell you, that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. A woman, when she gives birth, has sorrow, because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she doesn't remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a human being is born into the world. Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you. "In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full. I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. But the time is coming when I will no more speak to you in figures of speech, but will tell you plainly about the Father. In that day you will ask in my name; and I don't say to you, that I will pray to the Father for you, for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came forth from God. I came out from the Father, and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world, and go to the Father." His disciples said to him, "Behold, now you speak plainly, and speak no figures of speech. Now we know that you know all things, and don't need for anyone to question you. By this we believe that you came forth from God." Jesus answered them, "Do you now believe? Behold, the time is coming, yes, and has now come, that you will be scattered, everyone to his own place, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world." John 16:17-33
