马可所著的耶稣传记——芥菜种的比喻 又说，神的国，我们可用什么比较呢？可用什么比喻表明呢？ (4:30) 好像一粒芥菜种，种在地里的时候，虽比地上的百种都小， (4:31) 但种上以后，就长起来，比各样的菜都大，又长出大枝来。甚至天上的飞鸟，可以宿在它的荫下。 (4:32) 耶稣用许多这样的比喻，照他们所能听的，对他们讲道。 (4:33) 若不用比喻，就不对他们讲。没有人的时候，就把一切的道讲给门徒听。 (4:34) 马可 4:30-34

The Parable of the Mustard Seed
He said, "How will we liken the Kingdom of God? Or with what parable will we illustrate it? It's like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, though it is less than all the seeds that are on the earth, yet when it is sown, grows up, and becomes greater than all the herbs, and puts out great branches, so that the birds of the sky can lodge under its shadow." With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it. Without a parable he didn't speak to them; but privately to his own disciples he explained everything. Mark 4:30-34
