Since Jesus knew that He was to be crucified, why did He not just avoid trouble by leaving town?
Jesus is faithful, he knew what it meant to the father to save the world from their sins. Jesus only wanted His father's will to be done. Like his prayer in the garden of gethsemane.'O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as i will, but as thou wilt'. Jesus knew His purpose on earth was to bear the sins of the world upon himself and be killed for it in order for the world to be saved. Had he ran away,he would have not fulfilled His purpose.

Jesus loved us and could not just leave us to go to hell without sacrificing himself....what a burden to bear...taking the sin of the whole world to himself. The Saviour of the world. That is a fitting title. He should be the LORD OF ALL.

Hence I will grant whole hordes for his tribute, he shall divide the spoil with the mighty, for surrendering himself to death and letting himself be taken for a sinner, while he was bearing the faults of many and praying all the time for sinners. Isaiah53:12
