The poor & suffering
Fear not, for I have redeemed you. You are mine and I have summoned you by name. When you pass through the waters I will be with you." Note: When, not If. Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?

We, the people of this world (God's people) have forgotten the suffering of the world and how we should be helping. Jesus taught us to do his work here on earth but we forget, get too busy, get wrapped up in our own problems. Many of us complain about our tasks in life continuosly. We are unkind to one another. Jesus took care of the poor, the hungry, the sick and suffering before the wealthy and even before his own disciples. In giving, we receive much back and in suffering we are able to be compassionate to others. My husband and I "adopted" a little girl from Honduras. The little we give to her gives her health care and education, but it gives us back joy ten fold! As a mother and grandmother I go to help the daughter & family that is sick, needy, in crisis, who needs me the most.
