Many religious leaders at that time led the people astray, how are we assured that this is not the case today?

"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
No, Jesus was simply doing what He had always done in his ministry, and that is give the opportunity for others to turn from their sins and corruption.  He did not entice his death but rather prophesied about it, and said that it was the reason why he came...it was the culminating point of His ministry and call.  He willingly laid down his life for us...thank you Father and Lord jesus Christ!

Every thing has been done as per it has written in the book of GOD. Nothing is new to add Jesus had obeyed the GOD wish that's way today we call him as Lord.

At temple he had over throw the financial transaction table, because in the GOD house priests used as an dent for making money.

Also Jesus warn the religious leaders calling them as hypocrites also serpent (snake). This all Jesus know through his incite. He came to the world through the purpose of  promise of word of the GOD the father is to fulfill.

Believe in Jesus you will be saved from the hypocrite world of people.

Jesus, the Son of God, second person in the Trinity, was obedient to His Father, unto death.  Death on a cross.

Jesus came to earth for this purpose, to freely lay down His life for us, in order to repair the separation from God that sin had created through Adam and Eve.

This was God's loving plan of salvation worked out through His one and only Son. And we as beneficiaries of that sacrifice need to remind ourselves daily of the Awesome God we serve.

His ways are above our ways.

”For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”-Isaiah 55:8,9
