How does Simon Peter feel about himself, and how does Jesus change that?
Peter did not feel that he was worthy to be a part of Jesus' ministry because he was a sinner. Jesus let Peter know that he could use him in the ministry to win souls. Jesus used Peter's occupation to bring him into his vocation.

How does Simon Peter feel about himself, and how does Jesus change that?

Simon felt that he was a sinner and that he was not worthy to be a part of Jesus' ministry.

Jesus let him know that he could use him to win souls and to do a work in the land.

Why did Jesus cry out, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken me?" Note: This is a direct quote from the Jewish Scripture, Psalm 22:1.
Because Jesus had taken on sin, God cannot look upon sin therefore he had to turn his back on his son for a little while. Jesus knew that he did not feel the oness that always between him and his father. He knew that he had turned away even for that split second.

The Roman governor, Pilate, found that Jesus had done nothing wrong. Yet, he authorized Jesus` crucifixion to please the crowd. Can you explain why people put popularity above doing what is right?
People put popularity above doing what is right for their own self-satisfaction. That is what the Bible means when it says gaining the whole world and losing your own soul they rather be popular with man than with God.

What do you think Jesus was feeling at the point of his arrest?
I don't think Jesus was afraid because he already knew of the things that he would have to endure. I think he was feeling more betrayed than afraid.
