What characteristics of a little child allow the child to better receive the Kingdom of God?
Little children have more chances of receiving the kingdom of God because of their innocense and total dependence to whosoever they believe are taking care of them. They are free of any malice brought about by age and adulthood. They are harmless and therefore sinless. In their young age they know not yet sinfulness like lust, hatred, envy and many other sinful acts mostly commited by adults.

Jesus' Anger
Jesus clears the Temple in great anger & in action to emphasise His message on the Holiness of the House of God. Even God the Father Himself manifested such anger in Sodom & Gomorah to make the people realise the consequences of doing evil. Our human nature need to see concrete evidences in order for us to understand & believe what is taught in written & verbal teachings.

Why did Jesus? penalty for sin need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
Jesus penalty for our sins need to include physical & emotional pain to show His Great Love for sinners that He is willing to suffer in His human nature. Moreover, He wanted to show us a concrete example on how to acquire the kingdom of God inspite of our human limitations of pain. fear and even death.

Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
No, Jesus was just fulfilling His misson assigned to Him by God the Father. Although He knew of His ordeal in the hands of the Pharisses He did not in any way try to incite or prevent His death to happen for He knew that this was the way to save mankind from the eternal death of sin.
