What lesson do you think Jesus taught the disciples by cursing the fig tree?
We are like the figtree, we were made to carry fruit but in many ways we dissapoint God, and do the opposite of what He wants us to do. We were created by God to serve Him, to make Him smile. Like the figtree we tend to fall short, however, we do not have to wither away, because Jesus died on the cross for our sins. We must just have faith in Him, keep on believing and be the best that we can be through the Holy Spirit and our faith in God. In our faith we know that God will give us anything we ask in prayer, even to move a mountain if needed. Thank You Father for Your love, make me a worthy servant. I love You Father. In Jesus name, Amen.

Can anyone elaborate on the following. I got it from Wikepedia. Another common explanation of the figure, first recorded by Theophylact of Bulgaria in the eleventh century,[citation needed] was that Jesus was referring to a certain gate in Jerusalem c

Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him?
We as sinners, have to repent our sins, come clean, give up the old life, part from the things that we regard as important but has no place with Jesus and accept Jesus as the ruling authority and love in our lifes. Only then will we be able to focus on Him and His purpose for our lifes. The rich man, as all of us, needed to learn this lesson to understand that we can only serve one God, nothing else, nothing less.

Why did Jesus? penalty for sin need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
If Jesus did not die ''of his injuries'' we would not be saved. 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Jesus died in everything to retsore hope for us. Thank You Jesus for Your love, thank You for eternal life, make me a worthy servant! Amen.

Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
Jesus is/was Destiny and Purpose. Jesus knew He is the Son of God, He knew His destiny and His purpose, He accepted His destiny and His Purpose and He lived and died His destiny and purpose, FOR US. We should follow in Jesus footsteps and live our destiny and purpose. If we really love God, Trinity, we will know what our destiny and purpose is and we will live it through faith, grace, hope, love and joy wishing the days by to SOON be with our Farther. DOES THIS MEAN THAT I/WE INCITE DEATH"
