I try to tell this person of the trouble and hurt they cause, but they refuse to accept any responsibility for their actions. I love them and want to help, but I feel so useless. What can I do?

Why is it helpful to confront a brother alone first, before involving others in confronting him?
Maybe the brother doesn`t know what they`re doing is wrong. Instead of embarassing them in front of a group, spare their feelings and pray they change.

Why did Jesus? penalty for sin need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
If you get caught speeding in your car, you get a fine. Dont pay your taxes, you go to prison. You have to pay the penalty. Imagine what all the penalties for all the sins would be" Maybe it did not need to be so bloody, but maybe that was satan trying to break Jesus. Jesus could have stopped the events at anystage, but he didnt. Why" So we will not have to pay in that way. Spiritual separation from God. If you have a bottle that has a vacuum inside and the top securely fixed. Now open that top, and all the air rushes in. When God separated Himself from Jesus that`s what happened.

OK, so Jesus did not stop His own death, but could he not have blocked out the pain? I`ll answer my own question, see if you agree. The pain and humiliation the Jesus suffered was the sum of our sins falling on Him. Without the pain, suffering and hum

Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
Maybe not. Jesus had said when and how he would die. Yes, He could have taken some form of defensive action, but that`s not why He came, is it" Imagine if Jesus had said No, and stopped the whole issue. We wouldn`t have this course, because there would be no Saviour to follow. No resurection to give us eternal life. No way of coming to the Father. Maybe Jesus was using the short time that He had, to show what things were really like in the temple.
