The disciples were in further shock about the empty tomb, They thought that Jesus would fight off His emenies but He was led to the cross as a lamb and put up no resistance, Now the empty tomb was too much to bear,

Refer Luke 24:22-24 "What is more, this is now the third day since these things occurred. Even some of our women have startled us! They were at the tomb early this morning and didn't find his body there, so they came back and told us that they had actually seen a vision of angels who said he was alive.

Mark 16:11
"When they heard that he was alive and that he had been seen by her, they refused to believe it. "

There was this feeling of emptiness and end hoplessness as their Hope had not only died but now even His body was taken away to kill their hope further.

Little wonder as Peter and company went back fishing

Their feeling can be summerised as Loss and, Hopelessness. John 20:9 "For as yet they didn't know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead."
