Why did Jesus answer their question with a question? Why didn`t he just say that his authority came from God?

I guess that Jesus answered this way because He knew their mentality. They were just finding a reason to crucify Him but His time was not their time.

Jesus taught that both believing and forgiving are key to effective prayer. Why do you think they are important?

These two key to effective praying, believing and forgiving, are important because if we do not forgive someone who has done wrong towards us, Our Heavenly Father cannot forgive us our transgressions. Likewise, we have to believe with all our hearts that what we pray for, we already have and it will be given to us. Both believing and forgiving goes hand in hand, because to believe that you will receive whatever you pray for you have to firstly forgive all your transgressors.

Jesus was angered by religious people inappropriately taking people`s money (robber`s den). Why did Jesus take such dramatic action and not just condemn with words?

I believe that actions speak louder than words. Jesus literally pushed the money exchangers & robber's out of the temple because of their bad actions in His Father's House of prayer. Jesus could have used a foul mouth but He didn't because foul words should not come out of the same mouth where prayers and praise come out to our Heavenlt Father.
