To teach us with his example that it is posible to overcome temptation if we equip ourselves with the word of God. Jesus went through the main and troublesome temptations that are common in our ordinary life. For Jesus, it is important the time of temptation, the message was for christians that has to bear it, only quarreling and doing the good fight and not making peace with temptation is how christians are free and can enjoy peace. We are proved in time of temptation, temptation provees what we really are. The crown is for the good fighter against temptation.

How did (does) repenting prepare someone for the Kingdom of God? I dare myself to turn this question into a true and great statement:"Repentance prepare us for the Kingdom of God". Yes, it is so, because through repentance we turn from our sinful life to a life of grace, of mercy...our minds, our hearts and our purpose of life changes 90 degrees, we then are focussed on God, and on his commandments, not on our own will or desires of the flesh, so we accept that we do not want to live a sinful life but by obedience to the commandments of God, or submission to the Kingdom of God, that is justice, love, mercy, righteousness,etc.

How did Joseph know it was a real angel appearing to him in his dreams, and not just , for example, indigestion? I believe that Joseph knew it was a real angel appearing to him in his dreams by grace of God, God poured out conviction within his spirit. The angel was sent from God, so the angel's words or commandment had great power of touching, of revealing Joseph' mind. !All grace!
