Through this relationship he is theorectically a descendant even though he was not the biological son of Joseph. Because he is the SON of GOD this is how or the reasoning why David would call him LORD. How is it that the Christ is descended from David, and yet David still calls Him Lord? Joseph was His earthly father who was a descendant of David. Jesus' spirtual Father is GOD and that is why David calls Him Lord.
