Why did Jesus answer a question with a question, rather than just telling the Pharisees by what authority He acted? Because these people had already been peached to but it seems they were not believing.He wanted them to reason this out them themselves.

Why did Jesus clear the temple in such a dramatic manner? Why did not he try to accomplish the same thing more diplomatically? The show of strength made them aware that He indeed had the courage and ability to influence the people's thinking. He was there for them and his display of strength gave His followers the courage to stay with Him. He is the road to eternal salvation.
