What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

What stands out is the Israeli culture managed to remain in-tact amidst the cultural mosaic of Greek and Roman thought etc. around them.

It's also interesting to learn more about the daily chores of the women, and imagine Jesus as a boy growing up in this setting. I like how neighbors shared a common courtyard where the women conducted their daily chores with one another's company.

It is helpful to confront a brother alone at first, before involving others, so that the issue may be kept private, to be shared only by the two people involved.

Why is it helpful to confront a brother alone first, before involving others in confronting him?
Because it's more comforting instead of embarrassment in front of others.
