Why was it important for Jesus to go through a time of temptation? It was written this way through the scriptures, so in order for the word to be carried out, this period needed to occur exactly the way it was described. I also suspect there is perhaps some truth to the effect that JESUS was also man. As such, the following period helped to define the fact that JESUS and this time of tempting proved that he was infact without sin.
