What did you learn about Jesus background that stands out or surprises you?

What stands out about Jesus' background, is that they style of living aren't different from what they are today, and that even though Jesus was a Jew, he spoke Aramaic and that it was his every day language.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

I was really surprised to know that Jesus mother was a teenager,and even in that time women were regarded as second class people,Im touched by the whole sabbath issue ,i would like to learn more about the keeping of the sabbath,why do we keep Sunday as our sabbath,that Jesus was of humble parents,his father being a carpenter.

Why is the Resurrection of Jesus a source of hope for people, even today?

Jesus' resurection is a source of hope becasue the saints in those days were waiting quite long for the manifestation of the Messiah and he did come. So it is today, we ware anxiously awaiting Christ return. The same manner in which he returned then, he will return again - soon!
