This was foretold long before Jesus was born that a Savior would be sent so this prophesy had to be fulfilled. Jesus asked that the cup be pass from Him yet He knew it was the will of His Father and not His own. He accepted His pain because He loved His Father who sent Him. If the Father had spared Jesus the pain of the crucifiction, today this world would be in greater turmoil than it is in already, corruption, violence, war and all evil that can plague this earth would be natural. I thank God everyday for sending His Son to die for us, even though it grieve my spirit when I think of all He went through for me and for many. "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire." Jesus knew what he was about to go into, he knew it was going to be painful, and full of grief for many. But God knew it had to happend. Only God is able to count the many blessings we accept and in accordance the many sins we perform on a daily basis. Do you know how much sin there is in the world? Do you or can you count them all? God alone can. Thats why God sent his faithful son to die for us. Without that imagine where we would all be today. If God had just let the 'cup pass' as Jesus asked, this world would be full of sin and sinners. We would be destruction to everyone and everything. God has plans, and in order for us to be with him soon we are asked by him to fulfill his wishes (plans).
