True Sacrifice
Jesus, had to endure all the physical torture because he was taking our place. A spiritual being does not feel emotional pain and as a result God had to be "human" to undergo human suffering and emotional pain. If he had not experienced this transformation, we would probably still have to offer animal (blood shed) sacrifice as was the norm in olden days.

Why do you think Peter was so emphatic and yet so wrong about denying Jesus?

The difference between Peter and Jesus is one of them is God and one of them is God's Creation. God (Jesus) knew what was in Peter's (Gods Creation) mind, heart and soul. God predicted as he presumed. He knows our daily routine, if i may. Because he laid it out for us.

If Peter didnt deny Jesus the three times as stated, he would not have truly believed. This had to take to place for a purpose, so that Peter would see that Jesus was The Son of God indeed.

Peter thought he was deserving of God in every way, he knew in his heart how he felt about God, hence the reason for his emphatic denying about Jesus. But little did he know what he was about to do. There's no doubt he felt bad, and wanted to re-do everything, but it had to take place for him to truly believe.

Who else other than God our Father knows what we are and not to do before we do it. This was Jesus' way of showing Peter who he was and is.

Why did Jesus“ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

I truly believe this was God's signal to us. Showing us what one sacred man endured for us. Showing us all the pain and suffering he went through just for us. Showing us just how much he would go through, and the depths he would go through just for us his children.

If God had just, predicted a Spiritual Separation from him to us, we would have never learned. Have you ever heard the saying, 'You'll learn the hard way'. God taut us the hard and brutal way for us to learn.

Think about it, if Jesus never endured any pain at all, and was just separated from God for our sins. Do you think many of us would be greatful, and where we are today? My answer is NO. Because as we all know, and we are all guilty of, we need to see or hear for us to truly believe.

God has plans. Plans for us all. And pain and suffering isnt one of them because Jesus gave all that for us. What he went through, may have been torture to the 1st degree, may have been painful in all ways, but thats the way God intended.
