2709 entries for this category: What does Jesus mean that "Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be exalted"? Jesus wanted to teach us to be humble everywhere and with everybody and should give up our egos. We should not be proud of of our positions, status in the society. If we remain humble with everybody, the society will sooner or later, start giving respect and love and if the society fails to do so, God will embrace us and bestow us his blessings. Similarly, Jesus advised us not to invite rich or affluent section of society for feasts, lunches or dinners etc. as they will pay back whatever they eat or consume whereas poor people cannot afford to pay back. In that case the God will exalt and help us in reaching heights.
