Why does Jesus describe to his disciples how disobedient, ignorant and lazy servants are punished by their master, and how obedient, alert and active servants are given greater authority?

Jesus is describing to his disciples to be watchful, alert and prepared all the time as He can come back at any time and will reward or punish for your wilful right things and wrong things respectively. However, He will reward innocent people.

Why does Jesus describe to his disciples how disobedient, ignorant and lazy servants are punished by their master, and how obedient, alert and active servants are given greater authority?

Jesus is telling his disciples to be watchful because He can appear at any time in any manner. He wants them to be faithful and to do right things always for which they will be rewarded if they know that the particular action is right. He further told them that those people will be punished if they do wrong things inspite of the fact that the particular action is wrong. Yes, innocent peoples who do not know what is right and what is wrong can also be rewarded. Jesus wanted to convey His disciples that persons, who can differenciate between right and wrong things and commit wrong things, dont deserve to be rewarded.
