2709 entries for this category: The things defile a man Yes, I can recongnize that my heart is filled with many sinful activties listed by Jesus in this passage. I believed in Jesus and He cleansed me with His precious blood. I believe that now I am free from most of the sinful activities. Day-by-day I want to lead a good christian life. Man is born in sin and living in sin. His heart is full of sinful activities. Here, Jesus says that the things proceed out of the man defiles a man. Jesus is the saviour, and he who believes in Him wil be saved. They will be free from sinful activities. First, we have to repent our sinful activites to God and ask Him to fill our heart with Holy Spirit. Once Holy Spirit enters in our heart, the activities of flesh will be stopped. Daily, we have to read the word of God and give spiritual food to the spirit abide inside us. Then the holy spirit will become more powerful and we will be free from all sinful activities.

Jesus departed for prayer Prayer is power. More prayer, more power. Prayer will refresh a person. This is the time to contact directly to God. In this context, Jesus found time to pray. Jesus was very busy. And the news of John`s assassination was calculated to exasperate him in the highest degree, and also to deeply distress him. He needed the benefits of prayer to keep down resentment, and to prevent despondency. For this he started away as soon as he heard the news, but the people prevented him till night.

Herod`s fear Herod had the power to do anything as he desires. However, Herod was feared himself of many things. Herod was aware that John is a righteous and holy man. Anything doing against such a man will invite God`s anger. Hence Herod feared to kill the John, even if he had the power.
