Thus we have the work of preaching the word; the responsibility of the labourers to whom the Lord would entrust it during His absence; His own action at the beginning and at the end, at seed-time and at harvest, Himself remaining at a distance during the interval; and the formation of a great earthly power as the result of the truth which He preached, and which created a little nucleus around Himself. We have the role to preach the word of God in growing the God`s Kingdom.

A Lamp on a stand Jesus is giving example of a lamp. The candle, the design and use of which is purposed to give light to men. Here the Gospel, which is the candle of the Lord, He had lighted up in the evening of the Jewish world, in the land of Judea; it was not His will that it should be always, and altogether, and from all men, covered with parables, and dark sayings, without any explanation of them; but that the light of it should be communicated, especially to them His; disciples, who were to be the lights of the world, and which were to shine openly before men, for their good, and the glory of His heavenly Father. This parable meant that we are the disciples and we have to shine for Jesus.

Spiritual family Those who are doing the will of God are the members of Jesus` spiritual family. Jesus is giving importance to the spiritual relationship rather than the human relationship. Through His blood Jesus has given a new life to those who believe in Him. Definetely, I am also included in the spiritual family of Jesus.
