Define "Compassion"? Compassion is the feeling which makes you merciful even to those who do not technically deserve it. It helps (not always) when you imagine yourself in the situation of your neighbour (including your enemy). It seems to turn mere justice into righteousness. Jesus teaches us how to generate and use this feeling towards ourselves and others. Once you manage to feel real compassion, you find the reason to be merciful against all expectations, which brings a great relief to the people concerned and to yourself.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you? It surprised me that pharisees were considered a "people´s party" and saducees a "conservative party". I have neve thought about them in the political context.
