Parables are a concrete language that people find easier to grasp and so we can spread the same teaching using similar ways: anedoctes, real life examples metaphores from a world the listener is more familiar with so that these prepare the ground for the good seeds. And not plant bad ones uprooting the darnel if we can. Carefully as the roots of both can be twisted togetehr. Leave it to the expert to dig in the right way and deep enough to disentangle in a way that the good roots are not damage. Like going to the barbers or the hairdresser, with the difference that here we are talking about ours souls and not just the way we look.
