1014 entries for this category: Why did Jesus seem to discourage the Scribe and the disciple from following Him? Didn`t He want these two to join Him? He presents them with all the challenges that such a vocation entails...it is not staying in the safe cosyness of the readings of the OT but battles on the fields and hardships on the journey and it is also detachment from blood family bonds. I think i read somewhere that Fathers are not allowed to celebrate the funerals of their own family members. As they undertake such caring mission they need to trust the Lord that their family is safely in the hands of others like them, if members of the Family and if not they need to fully truts in the power of prayers.

Jesus, rebuked the disciples for being fearful. How should they have responsed to the storm? With firm confidence and emanating security knowing that Jesus and thus the Father was with them. Of course as they are humans it is natural to be scared at times but having been annointed they have been gifted through hisb very hands with all the Power to face any risk endagering lost sheep. The shepard shouldnt be trembling more than the lost sheep...and has more daily Nourishment than others, readings and Eucharist, to feel him safely planted in his heart, whatever the storm he amy have to undertake with that sheep. Special wishes for vocation day to everyone...Jesus is rooting in your hearst...could just be a tiny seed blown into your heart by the Holy Spirit...right now...:)

Why did the people ask Jesus to leave, even after He delivered the two demon-possessed men? Misunderstood him for an even more powerful evil craeture ..how could he have such power on the evil spirits? maybe there is some OT lines that they had forgotten...on the power of his meek Father stemming authority. When crucified and condemned and hit...who was the strongest the true winner over evil and who was the weakest totally ruled by the evil one?
