Hint: The vineyard (where grapes are grown) is Israel; The farmer is God; the servants are the prophets who were sent by God; the son is Jesus; and the tenants are religious leaders of the Jews. Do the people know that that vineyard is God given and that they need to cultivate it according to his Commandments bearing Fruit? how do they threat those He sends to check? easy to bow to the Master...but not even him is recognised by everyone them Cause the Son is beaten and crucified and the fullfillment of the Law not accepted aka the Commandments are not fully applied. With withering consequences on the crop spraeding of weeds etc etc

Why did Jesus answer their question with a question? Why didn`t he just say that his authority came from God? Scratching my head like the Pharisees, i would say that if it si only from the people God is out of the pact and it is only earthly power. Only God? Imposition and no free will signing of the Covenant. You need both. And with a good practical teaching trick, he wants them to revise them their past studies, the OT, to come to an asnwer that stemming from true undersanding will root in them deeply and firmly.

Jesus taught that both believing and forgiving are key to effective prayer. Why do you think they are important? If you dont forgive, you store up anger or resentment that strangle your roots and do not let the Sap nourish you. You need to claer your vessel so that God can pour His graces and all shall be possible. Dont hold on to the old and rotten but empty yousrelf trusting that New Life will be pored in:)
