This is Jesus` sharp response to a trick question about divorce from religious lawyers. What does Jesus say is God`s role in a marriage? What motivation to stay together might Jesus offer a struggling couple? Its like the Covenat of the Ark. Would God abandon us? no so our commitment needs to be equal. God will take you through rough times like He did with the Jewish people and lead them you to salvation. We must have faith a faith as solid as the stone (Peter) on which the Commandments were written. However deep the waters, God always puts solid enough stones on our path if we have strong enough faith to feel them. And sometimes one moment you feel you are drowning suffucating and cannot even pray. But God hears the pleading of your soul and all of a sudden smack you find yourself on that longed for shore. :)

Jesus was commited to sacrifice his own life. What did he mean by the statement, "For who ever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel will save it"? Its the sacrifice of our physical well being for the love of another so that as we are not treasuring our earthly riches, also in terms of our own selfsatisfaction, we gain eternal life. Prdon, Life.If you hold on to the first you lose your Life because you ..or you delay the enjoyment of that because you fail to obey the Commandments of Love in one way or another.
