What is so good about fasting? Why fast? It`s the joy of feeding mainly on the Lord curbing earthly appetites. Losing ourselves in the Lord and in prayesr. Again not showing off how much we are suffering physically - looking drawn and and making a eartlhy show of it putting the focus on earthly needs - but truly learning to renounce or at least control to the the craving of the self in total abandonment to the Lord. All the rest being given it`s relative God centered importance and not being a chain of enslavement any more. Free to raise to God with our spiritually strong wings not burdened by the physical ones. That cannot raise us to Him.
