Salt brings out the falvr of the food that it is sprinkled on. Maybe thinking also of the metaphore of the yeast we are to bring out the goodness out of our fellow men. Like Christ is the Salt that brings it out in us. Also salt helps bread rise. Rising to a new life..imo

Why can we be glad when we are weak and suffering difficult circumstances? Because we are an empty vessel that is potentially most receptive to let God in. It is when we empty ourselves of ourselves that we can let Him in and let Him help us in our weekness.

Given the scandals associated with the women Tamar, Rahab, Ruth and the wife of Uriah (Bathsheba), why do you think they were mentioned in the geneology of Jesus? Mary was made sinless by the Lord the new Eve like Jesus is the new Adam descending from a geneaology of men who too - some - are all sinners. We all descend from our progenitors and bring that sin in our blood. We are redeemed through Jesus death on the cross. Salvation is stronger than the blood relations. It stretches to everyone who takes the Word in by letting it run through the soul like Life giving Blood. with the actual Passion and its reenacting at every Mass. Its` a Blood transfusion that reaches everysingle one. Mary`s blood was pure and with giving birth to the Saviour she redeemed all women with her yes. We are not biologically - blood connection - doomed to salvation or condemnation but the road is open to us all. Do we say yes or no to God to His will? like Mary and Joseph did and like Jesus too did. Question: did Mary and Joseph explained Jesus through the reading of the OT and the prophecies what he was called to? or was it - also - angels sent to him. Certainly his mother must have prepared him to his mission. What a painful cross to bear for a mother...and what an example she must have set for him in terms of courage and strenght.
