What lessons did the disciples learn as a result of encountering Jesus in the middle of the lake?

Everyone`s looking for the bodily Jesus and still is not able to experience his spiritual presence. It`s dark and they are all afraid. The disciples think he is on the sea banks and the people that he is in the lake and so they call him and look for him. But Jesus is with both of them and that cataclismatic wind is it the wind of the Holy Spirit? has he already told them that they should not be afraid of the signs of the end of the world but to trust he is with him? if he hasn`t this maybe is done to prepare them emotionally - it`s a powerful event that must have remained strongly impressed in their hearts.

What was there about Jesus` message caused so many of His disciples to turn away?

He just told them that he will have to die so they turn away because they think the ordinary way: earthly death is no victory. They do not understand but differently from the faithful disciples they don`t have enough faith to stand by him: not understand that you may believe but believe that you may understand. We know that you have the word of Eternal Life they say. The others either don`t understand what that is or they don`t think that Jesus has it which probably go together as they would at least believe in the difference between death and real death.

If the world hates those who testify that its works are evil, why didn`t Jesus deemphasize this portion of His message?

The world hates me he says because I testify to the truth that I am the Son of God. He refers to the judgement. My hour in other words death has not come yet and I know when it comes. But you don`t know. The Lord sees you - Jesus going to the feast without them knowing - and will see if you testify to the Lord / me or not. If he deemphasised the `evil` I take the blasphemy that he is the Son of God he the very Son of God would deny His father and the truth. He is not afraid and he testifies that till and with his own death having Pilatus recognise that: you say that I am otherwise you wouldn`t put me to death. He defies challenges his brothers.
