Earthly power and heavenly power

Again Jesus rightfully sets the boundary and makes it clear that he is not taking anything away from what is rightfully due to the earthly power. Dutiful - according to the God given Law that has to rule human law be at the basis of it. And Jesus doesn`t steal anything from Caesar. Honestly aknowledges what is due to him. You shall not steal....the 10 Commandments being the pillars of the house of human justice.

The scribes fail again

They don`t ensure justice is respected. They allow for the weak to be unjustly crushed and then almost do the same with the Son of God that was about to be stoned out of jelousy - rooted in misunderstanding the inheritance he was talking about was not the earthly one. Again they stop not out of the rightful fear of the Lord but of their eartly craving for power - they are afraid of losing people`s recognition and thus their powerful high role should the numerous people who understood the message take the defence of Jesus against them. They are subject to the whims of the people and dont administer Justice that is rooted in Christ/God. If Justice was truly made, justice on earth would be ensured. And in fact at the end - although it`s the will of the Father that this should happen - people condemn Jesus. A powerful lesson. Condemned by all those who do not for a reason or anoher saw in Him the Justice he was bringing and that Pilate, like the scribes, follow instead of being a good leader who brings the people to God. He sees his innocence but follows the crazy crowd. Not to lose power? and the people who did not get the message about the real Kingdom and hoped in political freedom - instead of freedom from sins - disappointed by him blindly sway towards their oppressors. Putting more faith in eartly power than in the Power of God. Lack of Faith.

Jesus doesn`t answer the question

Why? is it the lack of faith shown by the scribes either too worried about their earthly reputation - fear of being stoned by men but they would fail testifying God publicly - and not trusting Jesus enough. Had they said then Heaven they would have humbly aknowledged their mistake and opened so the door to forgiveness. But their earthly pride - publicly admitting in front of men a mistake- prevents them from aknowledging God`s authority seeking His mercy.
