Jesus confirms that certain suffering is not linked to one`s behavior. What does Jesus warn about the suffering (punishment) that is linked to one`s behavior? See also answer to the healing of the crippled woman. We are fully sinners when we know that we are on the wrong path and do nothing to change the course of our lives after we got the warning from Jesus - a bit like driving on past the high patrol stop palette. We can still stumble but at least we are holding onto Jesus` arm. And if we get to our weakest we can plead to be lifted up on his shoulders.The three conditions for a sin to be mortal come to mind - knowingly doing something evil ''the graver the worse''.

People often blame God for allowing suffering, but who does Jesus hold responsible for this woman`s suffering? Satan had her in his tangles. She cried for help and believed in Jesus healing releasing power and so she was saved. She knew that she was helpless and she asked for God`s help and guidance and she was pulled out of the pit. She knew eyes to see that she was prey to the evil one and saw the way out in God. Saved and free - free to walk in His Commandments. So we are resposnible to different degrees - depending on individual circumstances - for letting the devil entangle us. Suffering - the evil we outpour and entangle other people with - weeds spreading and sprouting - is a consequence. But when cleansed we bear good fruit. WE have to ask to be cleansed though.
