What do you think of the following words?
Ha! What do we have to do with you, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!`` Recognition comes from the evil spirit and then the news spread around Galilee. I was struck by the fact that people were amazed by Jesus having the power of commanding the evils spirits - power over evil. They are also struck by his authority - the forcefulness of his words. His `self` belief in the sense of knowing that he is God made man. When walking on the water towards the boat of the disciples he is amazed by the hardnesss of their hearts and their lack of faith. There seems to be so much emphasis on his voice and positive gestures - something so powerful that even the evil spirits obey. They step back in fear.

Accomplished purposes
Accomplishing means bringing to completion so I`d say that what He accomplsihed was bringing us salvation when He died on the cross to redeem humanity of its sins. So as he sacrificed Himself for others He also accomplished what mentioned by Matthew. As for the other gifts they are definetely fruits that His descent on earth and sacrifice brought but they are seeds that He planted in us - all potentially leading or better confirming us in our salvation provided we cultivate them in our hearts. And we can accomplish this if we follow in the example of powerful love and self sacrifice, humility and obedience He set for us. He showed us not only the greatest example of love - sacrificing His own son through death and a dreadfully painful one ''an awful agony far worse than the dreadful enough one that He had asked Abraham when he was asked to sacrifice his little son but also when we think of the agony Jesus faced ''that for me started in the garden when praying in full awareness of what was awaiting for Him'' the greatest example of courage in the face of all trials and pshychological. emotional and physical crosses that God asks us to bear ''for our redemption''. It`s a powerful example that helps understand the Message but the spreading of It was consigned in the hands of the disciples and Peter first and in that Church that He founded and that was through the first 12 to branch out in the whole world bringing so the potential of salvation promised - and so not yet accomplished - to all the poors and oppressed. A message of Hope - Hope that comes by taking up accepting one`s cross and courageosusly walking behind Jesus. In doing all this He planted the seed of abundant Life the spiritual one - with all its riches ''charity and all 7 the gifts of the Holy Spirit'' awakening to the real Life - opening of our eyes to the real riches -understanding of the path to take to preserve that salvation that He has granted us with His death on the Cross. He opened the way and the Gate. He showed us the path. These He accomplished. Walking along it is up to us to accomplish.
