1014 entries for this category: Jesus did not want to do miracles outside of Israel, yet the woman`s faith and persistence led to healing. What do you learn from this? Seems strange as the saviour came for all. But wha he is doing is to challenge both both those outside and inside Israel. How comes that so many Israelites, high priests in particular, get dragged down by the letter of the law and fail to see the miracolousness of Jesus deeds, whereas a syrophenicean woman who heard - kept her ears open - has so much instinctive trust in this man who appears on her doorstep for the first time? the Holy Spirit told her and everytime someone recognises hi, its like a renewal of the visitation to Elisabeth: John, that seed word that announced Jesus, leaps in people's hearts when the Master is near. And the Master cannot escape ;)

Why do you think Jesus looked up to heaven and then sighed before the healing? Jesus always says 'your faith has healed you'. Your not mine. My being the Son of God.The man is mute and also deaf. Speech in fact is not restored till his ears are opened. Looks like Jesus is teaching that man faithful prayer by showing him all that is needeed. A wishful humble pleading of the heart: if thats Thy will. La Chiesa Cattolica Riformata - a contradiction in terms - they took all the external worhipping gestures, but being man focused they lack the essence. That faith and realying in God that the liturgy of Jesus eyes turning to heaven encapsulate so beautifully.

Why do you think Jesus looked up to heaven and then sighed before the healing? He look up to his father in heaven and also pray to him for his responds and that is the only place he have to upon that is where his help comes from.
