1325 entries for this category: Why does Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment? Old testanent is the basis for the new but the law of the old testament showed man how bad he could be. No matter how hard we try we cannot obey all of Gods laws. The new covenant however did not cancell the previous ones but rather showed us that things of the Spirit is now what will bring us into a "relationship" rather than just obedience to the law. This means that loving one another is an addition that over rules the law and gives importance to the person and not their obedience to a particular group of laws. We now speak of heart, mind, spirit and soul rather than the meanings of written laws. Rembering that this commandment is an addition to the laws and in no way cancells them out.

How does being forgiven increase ones love for God? Note: According to Jesus, God`s forgiveness is motivated by love. In that we are all lost to ourselves in lusts, selfishness, anger and all forms of dishonuring God, how great must his love be to redeem such a broken being as man. It is because of this love that we realise just how far we have fallen and deserve to pay the penalty for that sin, so we begin to understand the huge cost He paid to redeem us back to Himself. It is because He loved us first that we love Him and the depth of our love for Him should be greater than the depth of sin that we have been saved from.

Faith allowed power to flow from Jesus even without his initiative. What is faith? To believe in the power of the risen Lord.All things are possible through the Lord Jesus christ.Allowing the Lord to work His miracles by believing that Christ will make it possible in the name of the Father ,the son and the Holy Spirit.
