What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

It is wonderful to learn about the actual daily life of the times of jesus. Sometimes i think we reflect of the past of jesus times as some sort of mythical era. To learn how they actaully lived was surprising and informative. It all appeared relatively `normal` too, and a lot more political than i would of imagined, with lots of diverse political groups and a lot of emphasis on religion and laws. Also surprising was the relatively small area in which jesus travelled, i imagined him to of travelled a lot further to spread the word, only 200 miles is amazing!!! and how the world has changed because of him. It maks me want to learn so much more about his life and his teachings

My Brief Summary of Jesus

Jesus was born as son of god, to save mankind from eternity in hell. Throughout the old testament we learn that there will be sent a saviour, a messiah to save us, he will not be of this world but the son of god. In order for us to be saved, we need to establish a true relationship with jesus, we need to put our trust and faith in him.God sent the holy spirit to help us receive the word of god and be true to him. When we struggle we need to pray, to be alert that the works of satan are always at hand, and to pray for the holy spirit to guide us. When there was the fall at creation, man really blew it with god, but god wants us to have a relationship with him, he created us in his image and wants us to love him and love each other, this is where jesus coms into it. We can`t earn being saved through good deeds, it is through the grace of god that we ae saved, by the act of jesus dying on the cross our sins are forgiven, the slate was wiped clean and we can begin again a relationship with jesus. We need to follow the word of god, i.e the bible, follow the commandments, love one another and put our hope and trust in jesus christ, make him the centre of our lives. The verse of john 3.16 says it all.

Brief Life Samary of Jesus

God came to this world in the form of man, ie Jesus, who is the Christ or King or Messiah. He has been walking the earth with alot of people but yet did not know him. Those who know that God loves us and He is with us are the ones who belief in Jesus. I have learned to Love one another and that the Lords prayer meant so much to me. It tells me that We must do as it is in heaven.... this to me it means that we must follow the foot steps of Jesus. We must love one another, we must love our neighbours. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind is the first and formost command that Jesus gave to his desciples and we must comply also with the comand. By reading the Brief Life Summaries and the Timelines During Jesus I am really touched with the life that Jesus went through and the meaning of The son of man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many... I feel so loved and so forgiving.
