Why did Jesus? penalty for sin need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
When we commit a sin, our mind agrees, our heart agrees and then our body agrees to carry on with sin. So first as the Word of God says: Flesh is weak. We first commit sin with our body. So the physical pain, Jesus bore on the cross as penalty for us. Secondly, the heart. Only after our heart agrees to something, we do that. The feelings in our heart and the thoughts in our mind come out as words and actions from our body. Our emotional feeling when we sin is a kind of guilty feeling and a feeling of seperating from God. This emotional pain, Jesus bore for us on the cross. Hence these two pains were a penalty. The minute or second we sin, we have a spiritual separation from God. But as Jesus was the Lamb without sin, His heart was always with God. And so, because of this Holy Spirit in Him, He prays for all of us, asking for forgiveness for our sins at the moment of His death.

Which of these purposes do you believe Jesus accomplished?
Jesus came to accomplish the main purpose of fulfilling God`s word - all the prophecies, the promises, the actions. And He still continues to accomplish the Word of God in our individual life.

How does Jesus link intimacy to him with obedience to him? a New commandment?
He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me; and he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and will disclose Myself to him. ''Jesus quoted by John 14:21''. Jesus asks us to obey Him and in turn He will love us for bieng obedient to Him for He knows that if we love Him truly, we definitely would keep up His commandments. This situation is similar to that of a child and his parent. When the child obeys the parent, the parent is so happy and knows that the child loves Him and in turn the parent also starts loving the obedient child, for the child paid its due respect to his parent by not only obeying but also by loving Him. The parent grows more and more intimate with him. Shares many things, Loves him, Helps him, Cares for him, Protects him, Does everything for him, gives His life for him because He knows that the child will never go away from its love and will be obedient. And even if the child moves away from the parent, the parent will chastise and make Him obey again for the parent knows what is good for his child. Similarly God also disciplines us and brings us back in love to obey Him. And during this growth of relationship, we feel a deep intimacy towards our Lord. I guess this is the way Jesus links intimacy to him with obedience to him.

If you had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, what would you discuss?
Seriously, I would not discuss anything at all. I would just watch Him and allow Him alone to speak. And at the end of the meal, I would say Let it happen according to the word of God. Having a meal with Him would be something that couldn`t be described in words. And seeing Him in front of me having a meal with me would definitely make me cry from the bottom of my heart for my Lord has made me so worthy of sitting at a meal with Him. At the end of it, I would ask him for another meal with me again...

Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
Well, after Jesus came into this world, everything turned on to new, that simple is the answer. New testament, New world, New creation, New covenant...so why not new commandment" When Jesus comes into us, the old goes away and see everything becomes new. We can read this in 2 Corinthians 5: 17. Jesus came to save us from our sins and gave us only two simple commandments, whereas in the Old Testament we find ten. As we all know, the 2 commandments Jesus gave mankind are `You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.` This is the great and foremost commandment. And a second is like it, `You shall love your neighbor as yourself.` On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets. - Matt 22:37. When we read these two commndments and then move on to the old commandments, we see that the first 3 commandments which God gave to mankind, come into the 1st commandment which Jesus gave to mankind. And the next 7 commandments, which God gave to the mankind, come into the 2nd commandment which Jesus gave to the mankind. Jesus condensed the 10 commandments into 2 commandments. Hence a new commandment arose of loving one another. Loving one another includes respecting and loving our parents...; not killing others through our words or actions, not aborting children; not committing adultery...; not stealing others peace, happiness, fame, joy, money, ..etc; not going to the court against others, not hating them, not cursing them, not hurting them...; not coveting neighbour`s wife or any other relation.....; not coveting neighbour`s goods... So let`s understand this new commandment, Jesus has given us and follow it in our lives. Love our brothers and sisters and forgive them.
