Was Jesus trying to incite his death?
No, he was not. Jesus knew all the things he had to accomplish in the earth before his crucufixion. He stated before "my hour is not yet come". He did not try to provoke anyone into killing him.

Was Jesus trying to incite his death?
Jesus didn't incite his own death.God gave Jesus up to die for our sins. Yes, Jesus predicted his death. He knew he was going to die and how much pain and torture He was going to endure during His journey to the cross. He didn't want to die,who does? I just have to say no about Jesus inciting His own death.

jesus said he would be in the ground for 3 days, how is friday to sunday 3days?
if it was friday evening, when did they buy spices?. You will need to know what Day of the preparation means. The day of Preparation always precides a sabbath, and it doesnt mean weekly sabbath only. The passover just passed and the festivial of unleaven was about to begin. Matt. 27:62-66 will show it couldnt be on friday. It will show if you look, that two sabbath had occurred in the same week. It doesnt have to be weekly sabbath, but annual sabbath do occur. Jesus said that the only sign given will be the sign of Jonah. So to prove his messiahship and be in the ground for 3 days. If you look at the Jewish calander for that time, we will find that Jesus gave up the spirit on Wed. the next day a sabbath (thursday),women bought spices, scibes talked to pilate(friday) next day sabbath (saturday) rose between saturday night to sunday morning. When the ladies got to the tomb Jesus had already risen.

the death of Christ on the cross.

I can say that the death of Christ on the cross, was the way God just want to show us his love to.what I new is that what brought Jesus to the cross was the love of God.That's why he said that the gratest thing a man can do is to give his life for the sake of his friend.Jn.13,
