What are the things that testify, or tell us, about Jesus?
There are a lot of things that testfy or tell about Jesus such that Jesus receives glory from above . Even what Jesus testified about Himself edifies us as believers. The miracles and what have been written about Jesus also tells us about the greatness of our lord Jesus Christ. Prophecies like that of Moses also tells us the greatness of Jesus. John the babtist also made the true testimony about Jesus. Jesus has proved to be the powerfull prophet of God who receieves glory from above at the same time overming death and brings about salvation to the world.

What are the things that testify, or tell us, about Jesus?
Not his words, teachings apart, but his acts culminating in the final one of his sacrifice. And the words of those who saw and heard. John foremost but also all the ones who treasured back all that was spoken by the prophets and treasured by the forefathers. Historical memory that runs along the main key of salvation. After the exile from eden of the progenitors. The running notes of Hope, Faith and Love played by the Master director through his humble instruments all following in the leading one in whom God the Father pleased Himself.

What are the things that testify, or tell us, about Jesus?
At the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist, the heavens opened and the Holy Spirit decended upon the Son in the form of a dove and the voice of the Father was heard saying, "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased". Of course, He did miracles, healed the sick, raised the dead, walked on the sea, forgave people of their sins, made the cripple walk, died for us to forgive us of our sins & to give us eternal life.

What are the things that testify, or tell us, about Jesus?
Our Lord returns to his declaration of the entire agreement between the Father and the Son, and declared himself the Son of God to show that He is the fulfillment of the prophesies. He had higher testimony than that of John; his works bare witness to all he had said. But the Divine word had no abiding-place in the hearts of the Jewish religious leaders, as they refused to believe in Him whom the Father had sent, according to his ancient promises. The voice of God, accompanied by the power of the Holy Ghost, thus made effectual to the conversion of sinners, still proclaims that this is the beloved Son, in whom the Father is well pleased. But when the hearts of men are full of pride, ambition, and the love of the world, there is no room for the word of God to abide in them and so they reject Him again.

The Jewish religious leaders considered that eternal life was revealed to them in their Scriptures, and that they had it, because they had the word of God in their hands. Jesus urged them to search those Scriptures with more diligence and attention. “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. “{John 5:39} and ye do well to do so. They did indeed search the Scriptures, but they did it not because Jesus told them to rather with a view to their own self righteousness. It is possible for men to be very studious in the letter of the Scriptures, yet to be strangers to its power or, "Search the Scriptures…"{John 5:39} and so it was spoken to them in the nature of an appeal. You profess to receive and believe the Scripture, let this be the judge not only for the scribes and Pharisees, but everyone He is advising or commanding all Christians to search the Scriptures. Not only read them, and hear them, but search them; which denotes diligence in examining and studying them. We must search the Scriptures for heaven as our great end; “…for in them ye think ye have eternal life… “{John 5:39} we must search the Scriptures for Christ, as the new and living Way, that leads to this end. To this testimony Christ adds reproofs of their unbelief and wickedness; their neglect of him and his doctrine. Also he reproves their want of the love of God. But there is life with Jesus Christ for our souls. Many make a great profession of religion, yet show not the love of God, but by their neglect of Christ and contempt of his commandments, for it is the love of God in us, the love that is a living, active principle in the heart of all true believers, which God will accept.

What are the things that testify, or tell us, about Jesus?
The things that tell us about Jesus are He didn't fall into temptation and put the Farther to test, the miracles He did, healing the sicks, rising the deaths, calming the storm, and all the works He did were the Farther's wills. Jesus is the Son of God.

What was Jesus doing by being harsh?

These are only my thoughts.

Jesus was prompting His audience to seek the Scriptures again.  Yes, He was disappointed in them, but His words are not a definitive pronouncement of damnation.  I really think He wanted to be harsh enough to reprimand them and prod them at the same time.

This lesson shows Him as the good shepherd who tends His sheep.  He is correcting their paths, but he is not chasing them to the slaughter house.

Testimonies About Jesus

"If I testify about myself, my witness is not valid. It is another who testifies about me. I know that the testimony which he testifies about me is true. You have sent to John, and he has testified to the truth. But the testimony which I receive is not from man. However, I say these things that you may be saved. He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light. But the testimony which I have is greater than that of John, for the works which the Father gave me to accomplish, the very works that I do, testify about me, that the Father has sent me. The Father himself, who sent me, has testified about me. You have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form. You don't have his word living in you; because you don't believe him whom he sent.
"You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me. Yet you will not come to me, that you may have life. I don't receive glory from men. But I know you, that you don't have God's love in yourselves. I have come in my Father's name, and you don't receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him. How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don't seek the glory that comes from the only God?
"Don't think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you, even Moses, on whom you have set your hope. For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote about me. But if you don't believe his writings, how will you believe my words?"
