How does a person abide in Jesus` word?

Jesus was trying to tell the men of Abraham's line that heritage is a matter of whose beliefs you practice with reverance. They were sinning regularly; therefore, their father was satan.

The people who followed and practiced the teachings of Jesus has Jesus as a father. One abides in Jesus's word by believing in it and living it. St. Francis espoused the phrase, "From Scripture to life, and from life to Scripture." We learn much from life as well as Scripture.

To place another slant on the question, that of having the ability to stay obedient to Christ one must have faith in the focus of his faith.  The focus of our faith is Christ.  Therefore, we must have faith that He will not only lead our spiritual journey but that He will also sustain us in this journey.  We must continue trying to practice His precepts as closely as possible.  I add that we must not handle the reins too tightly.  That might tend toward a literal definition.  Besides, now we have the Great Spirit to freely assist us.  The Great Spirit will guide us faithfully down our way so that we may stay pure and furthermore influence others to the greatest good as is possible.  I add this because the closer toward our goal of Christ-ification we get in our lives, the more satan will be uncomfortable.  He will pass his discomfort upon anyone who is going the way of Christ.

Using the sacramentals helps us.  They are an outward or visible sign of the invisible presence of our Lord Jesus.  What better way to show our allegiance and to plead for further support which we will need.  Secondly, I would like to mention in general the way of St. Therese of Lisieux, the little way. Use everyday duties as objects of sacrifice to our Lord.  They are inexpensive and very accessible.  Jesus will appreciate those gifts to Him.  As we ask for His mercy, He will spread the graces we need abundantly on us and the roadway ahead.  Blessed be God in His angels and in His saints.

How does a person abide in Jesus` word?
It is my belief that Jesus, was imbued with a spirit purely His own. He did
not borrow His mission, or His words, or His precepts from Egypt, Persia, or India. He was a genius that burned with
His own wick and oil. He was not a child of tradition, nor did He allow the muggy thought of Jewry to befog His midday
Mind. He was not a Son of God by proxy, but appeared in person and presented His heavenly credentials. There was not in His whole history and ministry a loophole for the belief in absence or apartness of God. Herein lies the appropriateness of our claim upon Him as a forerunner of the doctrine that we advocate. He is our Elder Brother, and to Him we are indebted for the clearest presentation of spiritual science that has ever been given to the world.

How does a person abide in Jesus` word?

I think from my own experience, that to abide in Jesus' word, that I must study It, Meditate on It, Pray, Fellowship with other Christians, and do my best to obey Jesus' Word. If I stumble and fall away, I must try to come back to Jesus as soon as possible. We have a loving and forgiving Lord,  who will always take us back when we stumble. Thank You Jesus!

How does a person abide in Jesus` word?

A person abides in Jesus word by meditating on the Word of God (HOLY BIBLE). By listening, reading, studying and meditating on the word. A person can then pray to the heavenly father and ask for wisdom and understanding in the Spirit. Faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of things even if you cannot see them. Real freedom is found in keeping God's perfect law. This is the new command to love one another. One of the most important covenant promises in the Bible is when God says, "I will be your God and you will be my people." Thank You! Lord Jesus Christ

    The Children of Abraham

Jesus therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, "If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
They answered him, "We are Abraham's seed, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How do you say, 'You will be made free?'"
Jesus answered them, "Most certainly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is the bondservant of sin. A bondservant doesn't live in the house forever. A son remains forever. If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. I know that you are Abraham's seed, yet you seek to kill me, because my word finds no place in you. I say the things which I have seen with my Father; and you also do the things which you have seen with your father."
They answered him, "Our father is Abraham."
Jesus said to them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham didn't do this. You do the works of your father."
They said to him, "We were not born of sexual immorality. We have one Father, God."
