If Jesus was at dinner with "morally upright" religious leaders today, what might he say they are doing wrong?

I think Jesus might say that they were not doing God's will. Instead they were doing politically and not godly. By: Allen Yong - November 04, 2007 - Public Category: Six Woes

Well, I think that Jesus would say that the religious leaders today are teaching the word of God but that they aren't practicing what they teach to others themselves. For the religious leaders to practice what they preach and teach to others to do the will of God. Not just saying but doing the will of God by showing love, mercy and helping others in real need. Action! speaks loud than words. If you are going to talk the Talk you better make sure you walk the Walk. Live by the spirit of God and do the will of God. Amen! I hope He could persuade them that our society needs stronger religious leadership; that it is NOT ok to worry about what is 'politically correct'; that it IS ok to scare people with the truth about what happens to those who do not obey God's Word. We are sugar-coating God's Word. Our God is the Creator of everything and we OWE our praise and our worship to Him and Him alone. We must do our duty as saved souls and spread the Word of Salvation like Jesus commanded us.

Many churches morally are bankruptcy today. Only few of them - about 30% are doing what Christ could describe as the WILL of His Father that send HIM. They knew people would not follow them without seeing miracle performed. For this reason, they are readily dolling out miracles without the spirit of God. Thereby leading people astray. I think that much would be said about the loose morals in some churches, how we strive to be accepted in a politically correct world when we should concentrate on delivering Gods word in the unwashed form. And perhaps settle for a local church that folks can walk to with their families rather than a mega church that requires a motor vehicle and a car park to attend. We also need Him to explain why we should not shoot our wounded leadership but rather nurse them back to spiritual health. By: eddie webb - November 02, 2007 - Public Category: Six Woes

Hello dear friends, I think Jesus today would be sharing with religious leaders that the tradition which the are still holding to is not taking them to heaven. And he would be telling them the issue concerning the heart and the holyspirit like forgiving people, preaching good news to people, allowing the holyspirit to follow in their hearts and teaching them how to pray.

Now as he spoke, a
certain Pharisee asked him to dine with him. He went in, and sat at the
table. When the Pharisee
saw it, he marveled that he had not first washed himself before dinner.
The Lord said to him,
"Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and
of the platter, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.
You foolish ones, didn't
he who made the outside make the inside also? But give for gifts to the needy
those things which are within, and behold, all things will be clean to
you. But woe to you
Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, but you bypass
justice and the love of God. You ought to have done these, and not to have
left the other undone. Woe to you Pharisees! For you
love the best seats in the synagogues, and the greetings in the
marketplaces. Woe to
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like hidden graves,
and the men who walk over them don't know it." One of the lawyers
answered him, "Teacher, in saying this you insult us also."
He said, "Woe to you lawyers also! For you load men with burdens
that are difficult to carry, and you yourselves won't even lift one finger
to help carry those burdens. Woe to you! For you build the
tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. So you testify and consent to
the works of your fathers. For they killed them, and you build their
tombs. Therefore also
the wisdom of God said, 'I will send to them prophets and apostles; and
some of them they will kill and persecute, that the blood of all the
prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required
of this generation; from
the blood of Abel to the blood of Zachariah, who perished between the
altar and the sanctuary.' Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this
generation. Woe to you
lawyers! For you took away the key of knowledge. You didn't enter in
yourselves, and those who were entering in, you hindered." As he said these
things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be terribly angry,
and to draw many things out of him; lying in wait for him, and
seeking to catch him in something he might say, that they might accuse him.
