What does Jesus mean that "Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be exalted"?
He wants us to exalt him at all times. He wants us to look for th good things in life and not the bad. He also means that to also try to be humble and to have patience.

What does Jesus mean that "Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be exalted"?
In God's Kingdom, hummility is very important. This is so because we are saved by the grace of God in order that we should not bost of our works ' Ephesians 10 Vs 8-10". When someone puts himsel/herself up , God will pull him/her down like what He did to Satan in heaven who wanted to be like God. However, when we share the love of God and remain humble in obedient to the word of God, God will uplift us for there is nothing impossible with Him "Mark 10 Vs 27". Happy are those who humble themselves before God because they will be blessed. My prayer is that all of us should humble and be obedient to the will of God so that God uplift us. Amen! Jesus means that only exalt God not thyself. We have nothing to exalt of us only God for He is the creator, without God we are nothing. So be humble. By: Allen Yong - November 16, 2007 - Public Category: Jesus at a Pharisee`s House

What does Jesus mean that "Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be exalted"?
He means exactly that. If we exalt ourselves more sooner than later we are going to have our reward, but, if we learn to be humble, time will come when Jesus will exalt us and we will have plenty of joy. By: Rodolfo Garbanzo - November 16, 2007 - Public Category: Jesus at a Pharisee`s House

What does Jesus mean that "Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be exalted"?
Well, I take that to mean anyone who exalts himself over others saying and doing things to belittle people. And showing others how much money or power they have by saying look at me. Instead of sharing and blessing others in need by blessing them and making no reputation for yourself. Giving to the poor, the maimed, the lame and the blind and you will be blessed because they don't have the resources to repay you. So humble yourselves before the Lord and you will be exalted. For you will be repaid in the Resurrection. Do unto others as you would want done unto you. Show God's mercy unto others and forgiven those who hate you. Show God's love and give to those who are in need. Show God's work in you by your actions by faith in Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen! What does Jesus mean that "Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be exalted"?
Jesus means those who make themselves simple are going to be made greater and those who feel greater will be made simple. By: Bol Joseph Agau - November 16, 2007 - Public Category: Jesus at a Pharisee`s House
It happened, when he
went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a Sabbath to
eat bread, that they were watching him. Behold, a certain man who had
dropsy was in front of him. Jesus, answering, spoke to the
lawyers and Pharisees, saying, "Is it lawful to heal
on the Sabbath?" But they were silent.
He took him, and healed him, and let him go. He answered them, "Which of you, if your son or an ox fell
into a well, wouldn't immediately pull him out on a Sabbath
day?" They couldn't answer
him regarding these things.
He spoke a parable to
those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the best seats, and
said to them, "When you are invited by anyone to a marriage feast, don't
sit in the best seat, since perhaps someone more honorable than you might
be invited by him, and he
who invited both of you would come and tell you, 'Make room for this
person.' Then you would begin, with shame, to take the lowest place.
But when you are
invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you
comes, he may tell you, 'Friend, move up higher.' Then you will be honored
in the presence of all who sit at the table with you. For everyone who exalts himself
will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." He also said to the
one who had invited him, "When you make a dinner or a
supper, don't call your friends, nor your brothers, nor your kinsmen, nor
rich neighbors, or perhaps they might also return the favor, and pay you
back. But when you make
a feast, ask the poor, the maimed, the lame, or the blind; and you will be blessed, because
they don't have the resources to repay you. For you will be repaid in the
resurrection of the righteous."
