What did the blind man acknowledge about Jesus by calling him the "Son of David."? Note: David was a great king of Israel. The "Messiah" was predicted to be a direct descendent of David, as Jesus was.
I do not see how or why one can conclude that the blind man knew anything that everyone else did not.  Do you believe that blind men can somehow "see" what is obvious but the rest of us are blind to it?

The blind man acknowledged that Jesus was descendent of David, and he was the Messiah.  He had that faith that Jesus could heal him soon he hailed out to Jesus, he went before the Messiah and immediately he could see, because he had that faith and believe, if we only follow the ways of the Lord all things are possible

I trust Bartimaeus though he was blind, he had heard about Jesus. And Him being the Christ, Bartimaeus exercised faith, to believe that He is the one the prophet Isaih talked about, from the house of David, the root of Jesse, who would carry all our iniqiuties and heal all our diseases. And so He knew that Jesus had all the power, therefore he called on Him, I do not think he acknowledged anything special about Jesus, he had heard all the miracles He performed, and so knew he was calling on the right person.

Bartimaeus must have known that Jesus was the Messiah. In order for him to call Jesus the Son of David. And by believing that Jesus could heal him of his blindness or any illness he cried out to him for help. Thank God, for his tender mercies  and loving kindness upon us whom believe in Jesus Christ our Lord. Jesus said to him, "Go your way for your faith has made you well." Praise the Lord!

Blind Bartimaeus Receives His Sight

They came to Jericho. As he went out from Jericho, with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road. When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and say, "Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!" Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he cried out much more, "You son of David, have mercy on me!"
Jesus stood still, and said, "Call him."
They called the blind man, saying to him, "Cheer up! Get up. He is calling you!"
He, casting away his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?"
The blind man said to him, "Rhabboni, that I may see again."
Jesus said to him, "Go your way. Your faith has made you well." Immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
