What did Jesus do in the Garden of Gethsemane?
Jesus visited the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. It was a place of quiet for Him.  He prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane just prior to his arrest, not long before He was crucified.

According to John`s biography of Jesus (John`s Gospel) Jesus sweat drops of blood in the Garden of Gethsemane prior to His death. It was in the Garden of Gethsemane that Jesus said: "Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Please remove this cup from me. However, not what I desire, but what you desire."

What did Jesus do in the Garden of Gethsemane?
Jesus Himself said: “Watch and pray, that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." And, later: "Sleep on now, and take your rest. It is enough. The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Arise, let us be going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand." Jesus was in complete awareness of all the suffering, pains and humiliations He was about to experience, clearly stated in the preceding paragraph; but also exemplified in the contrast between His behavior, and the exhibited by His follower’s companions. Jesus had gone to Gethsemane to pray to the Lord, His Father, to ask Him for the strength and courage to overcome such experience of suffering, pains and humiliation as a human being; die, separation from God and Resurrection. Precisely why He added: “Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Please remove this cup from me. However, not what I desire, but what you desire” There lie both the greatness and the beauty of Jesus Christ act of sacrifice: John 3:16 “16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
